THE WYCC WALK FOR HEALTH!

The WYCC WALK FOR HEALTH, is a 3K family walk to support health and wellness that took place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 9:00 am -- The WYCC WALK FOR HEALTH addresses health issues and encourages a more active, healthier lifestyle and the benefits of doing more – outdoors.
This fun-filled day featured healthy activities for family members of all ages and was presented in partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County and will take place at the Dan Ryan Woods located at 8300 S. Western in Chicago. The day kicked off with walker warm ups just before 9:00 am followed by a full schedule focused on supporting a healthy body and mind.
The WYCC Kids Zone featured an active lineup of activities to delight children of all ages with visits throughout the day from favorite PBS Kids walk-around characters, face painting, art, soccer and more. Participants will enjoy demonstrations in healthy food preparation; fitness instruction – Tai Chi and dance to greater health; archery; entertainment; frisbee demonstrations; a nature walk and more!
WYCC coordinated activities took place from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with additional scheduled events planned by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County throughout the afternoon.
