Meet the Hosts
Cyber Columnist Monroe Anderson is a veteran Chicago journalist. He has executive produced and hosted his own local CBS TV show Common Ground, written signed op-ed page columns for both The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times, and was the editor of Savoy Magazine. Anderson was the press secretary to Chicago mayor Eugene Sawyer.
A published author, he has worked for magazines, newspapers, and television, and he publishes his own political blog. Anderson is a member of The Trotter Group, a collective of African American columnists representing publications coast-to-coast and of the AfroSpear, a collective of black bloggers. He is currently a contributor to The Root, a website featuring black news and opinion. He has also contributed to The Huffington Post.
Ed Tracy supervised the construction and opening of the Pritzker Military Library in 2003, and as President and CEO, opened the new state-of-the-art facility at 104 South Michigan in 2010. He originated the broadcast television programs Pritzker Military Library Presents and Medal of Honor with Ed Tracy, hosting interviews with recipients of the medal of honor, talking to dozens of top military writers, and televising more than 200 other book-related programs, panels and interviews at the library.
The Library’s programming was recognized in 2007, 2008 and 2009 by the Webby Awards for online content. Tracy received a 2010 Chicago Midwest Emmy Award as Executive Producer/Host of the 2009 Medal of Honor Convention Opening Ceremonies broadcast from Soldier Field while serving as the Chicago Convention co-chair.
